**About the role and our team**

Join our team as a Data Protection Officer within the Department of Education, Sport & Culture

In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of support, advice and guidance to all areas of the Department to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and best practice in information management, data protection, freedom of information and the preservation of public records.

You will assist and lead in many information management systems, including process improvement. You will play a pivotal role in the development of information roadshows for the Department's staff, to assist with new and ongoing training in this field to best support good practices.

This is a key role where you will be able to positively influence change and improve practices of good information management as part of a small, focused team who are committed to delivering an excellent service and drive forward good practices.

Please note a standard police check is required for this post,** **which the Department will cover the cost of for you. Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.

A full valid driving licence is required for this role.

A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
