Position: Seasonal SEN and Wellbeing Coordinator
**Salary**: £13.50 per hour (including holiday pay)
duration of their chosen waves.
About Personal Best Education:
Personal Best Education is a dynamic organisation committed to empowering young people,
including those with SEN, through the National Citizen Service (NCS) program. We have
been providing expert educational, sports, and leisure services to the public since 2012, with
a primary focus on educating and upskilling the next generation while improving physical and
mental well-being.
Position Overview:
As an SEN and Wellbeing Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in transforming the lives of
young individuals with SEN through our programs. Your mission is to be a positive influence,
a mentor, and a guide during a transformative period in their lives. You will inspire and
support young participants with SEN throughout the NCS program, ensuring their well-being,
and collaborating with a dynamic team to achieve program objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specialised Wellbeing Support: Provide personalised supervision, mentorship, and
unwavering support tailored to the unique needs of participants with SEN.
- Inclusive Role Modelling: Be an inclusive inspiration and positive role model for
participants with SEN, offering motivation and unwavering support.
- Adapted Engaging Sessions: Lead sessions designed not only to educate but also
to empower, considering the specific needs of participants with SEN.
- Focus on SEN Well-being: Collaborate with other staff members and Safeguarding
Leads to ensure the well-being of participants with SEN is a top priority throughout
the programs.
- Managing and Mentoring SEN 1-1 Support Staff: Take charge of overseeing and
mentoring 1-1 Support staff for participants with SEN.
- Breaks and Timings: Be responsible for coordinating breaks and managing timings
for the SEN 1-1 Support staff.
- Effective Communication: Seamlessly communicate with senior staff, colleagues,
and venue staff to ensure the seamless operation of the programs.
- Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with the team to achieve the program's aims,
objectives, and outcomes, emphasising inclusive practices.
- Administrative Excellence: Handle key administrative tasks, including registers and
incident reporting, with precision and efficiency.
- Safeguarding: Follow safeguarding procedures meticulously, addressing concerns
promptly in accordance with Personal Best Education policies.
- Guided Reflection: Lead daily guided-reflection sessions, utilising your training to
create meaningful moments for participants with SEN.
- Activity Engagement: Support participants with SEN in fully engaging with the
activities on offer, demonstrating and encouraging active participation.

Skills and Experience:
- Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with SEN.
- Excellent verbal communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership skills, including managing challenging behaviour.
- Motivational and encouraging approach to overcoming barriers.
- Understanding of working with diverse community groups.
- Experience in safeguarding and providing pastoral support.

- Knowledge of Personal Best Education and National Citizen Service (NCS).
- (Desirable) First Aid Qualification.
- (Desirable) Qualification in/working towards teaching, coaching, early years,
playwork, youth work, or a related field.
