We are seeking to recruit a passionate, knowledgeable and dynamic Home Intervention Practitioners to join our Specialist Sussex-Wide Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS). SFEDS works with young people aged 10-18 with Anorexia Nervosa/ Bulimia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa and their families, and supports recovery through Evidence Based Interventions such as Maudsley Family Therapy models, group work, and E-CBT. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality evidenced based treatment in accordance with NICE Guidelines and National Access and Waiting Time Standards.

You will be joining a service of highly skilled and experienced Family and Systemic Psychotherapists, Psychiatry, Paediatrician, Clinical Psychology and Assistant Psychologists, Nurses, Support Workers, Dietitian, and Social Workers with support from an outstanding administration team. Our team is responsible for covering all of Sussex, operating as a hub and spoke model with Chalkhill Hospital in Haywards Heath as the main team hub and Crawley Down as new team base.

The Home Intervention Service provides a discrete additional intervention that SFEDS provide as an alternative service to young people and their families who are at high risk of hospital admission.

As a Mental Health Practitioner in our Home Intervention team you will identify and deliver relevant treatments and interventions; liaising where appropriate with families, carers and the professional network. You will conduct assessments of young people referred to SFEDS, as well as support existing patients and their families with completing meals at home according to their treatment plan. A primary goal of the role is to support treatment in the community and prevent hospital admissions. In doing so, you will be a key player in liaising with family, school, medical staff and all professionals involved in the young person's recovery. You will be supported within the team by senior clinicians and will work closely with other specialists within the service.

We provide mental health and learning disability care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
In order to be a successful Home Intervention Practitioner in our team you will be:

- A Registered Mental Health Nurse OR Qualified Psychotherapist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist
- Comfortable in providing intervention and treatment for young people with eating disorders
- Experienced in working with people presenting with mental health problems

**It would also be advantageous if you have**:

- Experience within an Eating Disorders team/ service

SPFT staff have the capacity to work from home remotely where applicable and in agreement with your line manager.

MAIN DUTIES
- To assess level of urgency of referrals and to prioritise response accordingly.
- To be involved in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of young people with eating disorders in the community, to hold CPA responsibility where the eating disorder is the prime diagnosis and liaise closely with other health care professionals to ensure a consistent approach.
- To provide specialist therapeutic interventions as part of individualised treatment plans based on psychotherapeutic principles which are grounded in evidence based theory and practice.
- To evaluate and monitor risk, on an on-going basis and to be responsible for appropriate interventions to jointly manage risk and to inform other agencies as appropriate.
