**Are you passionate about motivating young people to succeed at college?**

As a Progress Coach, you will have responsibility for groups of 16-19 year olds acting as their mentor, advisor, and coach. You will also have responsibility for delivering a range of personal development group sessions.
You must have a level 4 qualification, preferably a degree, level 2 English plus a pre-teaching qualification such as Level 3 Award in Teaching & Learning or willingness to undertake within one year of appointment. Experience of managing large groups and experience of providing 1:1 support is essential.

**Salary Range**: £29,227- £31,466 (FTE) per annum

REPORTS TO: Pastoral Support Manager
**RESPONSIBLE FOR**: The support and progress of a group of students within the College
**JOB SUMMARY**:
A Progress coach plays a lead role in ensuring that students have the appropriate support to help them succeed in their courses. The role's main responsibility is to coach a caseload of 16-19-year-old students in a 1:1 and group capacity.
**Key responsibilities are**
- The active monitoring of students progress on their study programme
- Mentor and advocate for students when necessary
- Target setting and monitoring individual learning plans (ILPs)
- 1:1 progress reviews
- Preparing students for progression (internal) and external progression from the College
- Delivery of the DDS (directed digital study) programme to the students helping students be independent learners
- Delivery of the skills passport programme to groups to enable learners to develop key skills to ensure they are work-ready
- Encouragement of participation in wider College life
- Work on further development of relationships with parents and carers
- Overall to contribute to the wellbeing, support and care of young people at the College
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
The person appointed should:
- Support students on a one to one and group basis and act as an advocate for students when required.
- Contribute to the enrolment and induction of students, including the supervision and tracking of initial and diagnostic assessments.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, data and student progress towards attainment targets. Undertake 1:1 progress review meetings regularly and provide action plans and SMART targets to assist the learner in achieving all elements of their programme.
- Ensure effective communication with teaching staff, and liaise effectively with counselling, medical, financial support, additional learning support, enrichment and any of the wider team to offer a full range of support for the students.
- Ensure effective quality control and continuous improvement in all aspects of the work and responsibilities attached to this post, in keeping with the College's quality assurance procedures and systems.
