**About Us**:
**THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF MR K’s RECOVERY**
Adult Social Care in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where our passionate, caring and committed professionals do brilliant work every day.
Mr K has a diagnosis of Paranoid Schizophrenia and was in care for a long period as a child. Before he came to MH Reablement Mr K had frequent re-admissions to hospital, his risks included social isolation and self
- neglect.
Our Independent Living Assessor/ OTCM of the MH Reablement Team worked closely with MR K to support him with his activities of daily living and he became independent in managing laundry, personal care tasks and completing meal preparation independently. We improved his health and nutrition, reduced hospital admissions and he met his re-ablement goals and continues to flourish independently within our community.
**The Role**:
As a part-time Project Officer you can make your own powerful contribution at the heart of the Westminster Changing Futures Programme.
This is a 2.5 day-a-week position, with lots of flexibility within our core office hours. Admin and project support-focused, you’ll organise the team’s diaries, take minutes, handle simple finance duties, enter data and help put together reports.
There’s a sizable event element too, as we’ll ask you to book venues, arrange catering, coordinate suppliers and be there on the day - greeting guests and making sure everything goes smoothly.
It’s all for a great initiative. Changing Futures helps disadvantaged people who keep revolving through systems and services, like the homeless and substance misusers.
The Programme aims to introduce new frontlines services and cross-sector workforce training, often in collaboration with people who have lived experiences. Who understand what’s needed to deliver systemic change.
During quiet moments, you may also help other teams in our Communities directorate. But this is really an opportunity to put your energy into a Programme that’s making a real difference in lives today - and will go on to inform local and national policies.
Please refer to the **Job Description** for more information.
**About You**:
It’s likely you’ve worked in admin before - collecting information from a variety of sources, and perhaps processing invoices and receipts.
What will really grab our attention is your attention to detail, superb organisation skills and confident communication skills. You’ll be able to spot issues before they arise, help everyone stay on top of their workloads, and be a friendly, professional face at our events.
**What We Offer**:
Westminster is an amazing place. We are home to over 250,000 residents from all backgrounds, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people work in Westminster. Westminster City Council’s strategy is to work towards a Fairer Westminster. A Fairer Westminster is one in which our communities are at the heart of our decision-making and help to determine the city’s future. By working directly with our communities and other partners, we can build a more inclusive city that celebrates our diverse communities, and where residents, workers and visitors from all backgrounds will feel welcome and safe.
As a forward-thinking Council we appreciate that people work in different ways, therefore our staff benefit from working a range of flexible working patterns as well as Agile working.
