Finance and HR Officer

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented Finance and HR professional to join our Haulage team. The role is essential to ensuring smooth operations within the organisation.
Reporting to the managing director, you will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including:
**Finance Duties**:
- Manage purchase ledger function including invoice and credit note processing, supplier statement reconciliations, supplier payment runs, payment reconciliations
- Manage sales ledger function including invoicing and credit note posting, receipt reconciliations, credit checking and set-up of customer accounts
- Credit Control
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Reconciliation of nominal accounts
- Posting of month end adjustments including payroll, prepayments and accruals, depreciation
- Generate monthly management accounts and additional performance reporting when requested
- Cash flow forecasting and cost analysis
- Perform ad-hoc finance administration duties as required
**HR Duties**:
- Provide the first level of support for HR queries including payroll, holidays etc.
- Assist with the employee lifecycle, including advertising openings, first point contact, arranging interviews, onboarding, managing the induction process, ongoing training - monitoring and managing, offboarding
- Ensure employee records are kept up to date
- Employee communications
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and office team members to improve HR processes and contribute to a positive workplace culture
- Liaise with the HR support provider to ensure legislation and policies are adhered to
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Proven experience working in similar Finance/HR roles
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation skills
- Proficient in the use of XERO
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Knowledge of up-to-date HR legislation
- A pro-active approach and the ability to manage your own time and work independently
- The ability to converse with stakeholders at all levels
- A team player who’s happy to support other departments when needed
Salary will depend on experience
20 days + 8 bank holidays per annum
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
