**Salary**: £24,000pa pro rata

**Hours**: 28 hours a week over four days (must include Tuesdays)

**Contract**: Permanent

Hands Together Ludlow works with partners, stakeholders and volunteers to create a more equitable community in and around Ludlow by reducing isolation, poor health and wellbeing and financial hardship. By bringing volunteers and beneficiaries together though a range of services, we fill the gaps, provide opportunities and support the community to support itself.

We do this in a number of ways including:

- Providing Tuesday Community Lunch, Wednesday Afternoon Tea and our ‘Company at Christmas’ Christmas Day lunch.
- Providing a Community Helpline and emergency prescription delivery for those unable to leave home.
- Offering Healthy Eating classes and support.
- Social Prescribing activities.
- Helping people get to important appointments with volunteer drivers.
- Running the local Men’s Shed.
- A weekly Good Start Together toddler group for parents experiencing difficulties.
- Our monthly Good Grief Café.
- Recruiting and supporting local volunteers and providing ways to engage the community.
- And a range of other interventions to help those in need.

The role will be based primarily in our Ludlow office, with some activity in other venues in the town as required.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Project Management and Food Services**
- Work with partners and staff to identify opportunities to develop and deliver new food services based on identified need and in line with the charitable objectives.
- Be the lead Hands Together Ludlow representative for the Shropshire Good Food Partnership.
- Develop, maintain, and manage relationships with partners and organisations for food surplus donations and organise deliveries/collections.
- Ensure effective, safe and consistent delivery of all current food activity.
- Work with multiple agencies to establish good working relationships to enhance provision and increase support to service users and volunteers.
- Plan, develop, chair and grow our Food Group meetings and attend Food Network meetings to inform practice and identify opportunities.
- Identify external funding opportunities to maintain and develop the Food Services activities within Hands Together Ludlow.
- Develop materials to support activity such as menu packs and course content.
- Develop and lead on new food activity such as detached food work with young people, new cookery courses and pop-up demonstrations.
- Work with the council to ensure we achieve and maintain 5-star food hygiene ratings.
- Manage food stock, storage and turnover and equipment for food activities.

**Volunteer management**
- Work with the volunteer coordinator to recruit, train and support volunteers needed for food activities.
- Identify training needs, write, organise, and deliver training programmes as appropriate.
- Support and manage kitchen volunteers producing and serving our weekly community lunch, including cooking the meal if volunteers are not available.
- Supervise and keep food volunteers up to date with information and training and monitor compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations and working practices.
- Maintain and develop policies, guidelines and practice relating to food activities.
- Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organisation.
- Organise rotas and activity of volunteers where necessary.

**General**
- Engage with the project planning and budgeting processes and procedures for Hands Together Ludlow
- Be alert to any Safeguarding concerns and processes.
- Support beneficiaries to access food related activity.
- Monitor and evaluate activities and provide regular and timely reports.
- Maintain accurate records and undertake other administrative duties.
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance and risk assess projects/activities.

These duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. The post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to support the development and delivery of Hands Together Ludlow.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 28 per week

**Salary**: £19,200.00 per year
