**Role Overview**

We are looking for a Cook / Cafe Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work primarily in our little kitchen, preparing and cooking classic breakfast and lunch dishes, following our menu and cooking instructions to maintain the quality and value our customers love. Suggestion and creative input into our menu/dishes is welcomed. You’ll also provide support for front-of-house tasks as and when needed, including barista and till duties, greeting customers, and assisting with general service needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Food Preparation and Cooking:
Prepare breakfast and lunch dishes to order, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency.
- Cleanliness and Hygiene:
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen during service, adhering to daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules. Close down the kitchen to a high standard at the end of the day.
- Food Safety:
Follow all food safety standards and guidelines, keeping up-to-date on safe food handling practices and regulations.
- Dishwashing and Cleaning:
Assist with dishwashing and ensure all equipment is cleaned and stored properly.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Front-of-House Support:
Be cross-trained in barista and till operations; comfortably take orders, serve food and drinks, clear tables, and assist in engaging with customers, supporting each other to ensure smooth service flow.
- Order Management:
Keep track of stock levels and report to the manager on any items needing restocking.
- Customer Service:
Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring they feel welcome and taken care of during their visit.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week
