The Challenge

We are looking for a Head of Regulatory & Specifications UK&I, with a big passion for regulatory and biscuits. We offer you the opportunity to join our team and contribute to our mission to bring ‘Happiness with every bite’.

The position entails

This is a very exciting opportunity to ensure the legal compliance of all pladis products sold within UK&I

your goal will be represent the Regulatory & Specifications teams where appropriate with project team meetings with a specific remit to advise on compliance implications and keep abreast of development and trends of the food & health regulations and local and international policies that could impact our business.

You will be reporting to pladis Director of Global Regulatory.

Your main responsibilities
- Ensure that all formulae are compliant to local regulations, approve or de-authorize use of ingredients or formulae in.
- Keep abreast of the existing regulations and possible new local regulations that could be enacted that would impact the Company business.
- Advise and initiate the necessary R&D work to proactively comply with upcoming regulatory developments to enable future launches.
- Lead a team of Raw Material Analysts to ensure that all raw material data from suppliers is correct and up-to-date; using an online specification system/portal
- Influence a diverse group of regulators, academics and industry associations using scientific information and l expertise.
- Keep abreast of development and trends of the food & health regulations and local and international policies
- Lead in the local trade associations, drive Company agenda and develop common positions and communications which can support the business.
- Review and sign-off artwork designs against relevant pack copy for legal compliance for market.
- Represent the Regulatory Affairs & Specifications teams where appropriate with project team meetings with a specific remit to advise on compliance implications.
- Represent Regulatory & Specifications team on the UK&I R&D Leadership team; driving engagement across the whole function
- Keep abreast of development and trends of the food & health regulations and local and international policies that could impact our business.
- Generates dialogue and obtains input from cross-functional teams in order to find the best business solutions.
- Coordinate and manage people and resources,
- Assess and plan for current and future needs, estimate risks over a longer-time horizon and manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Creates an environment that fosters collaboration.

What do you bring?
- Degree in Food & Nutrition Science, Food Technology or other food science-based degree.
- At least 8- 10 years of experience in a similar business.
- A knowledge/understanding of Food Legislation, guidelines and codes of practice.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Will be creative, with vision but also a clear, logical thinker.
- Behaves according to high ethical business principles and values. He or she will be widely trusted, will take ownership and will deliver on commitments.
