**About the Service/Department**
The Haringey Mental Health Integrated Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Service supports residents aged 18 and over with moderate to severe mental illness in the borough of Haringey. The service will act as a key component in the Barnet, Enfield, and HaringeyMental Health NHS Trust (BEHMHT)’s new and emerging model for community mental health and wellbeing support. The new community models will deliver true integration of care and support across secondary mental health services, the Voluntary and Community Sector(VCS), primary care, social care, community assets as well as other physical health care provision. The Integrated VCS Service is typically provided on a 1:1 basis both in office, or in community hubs in the borough by appointment. It is also expected thatnew partnerships and community assets will be developed as part of this service to promote mental wellbeing and to address health inequalities in the borough.
**About the role
**To provide high quality support and role model the ability to have a meaningful life for an allocated group of service users (aged 18+) with moderate to severe mental illness within the community. To carry out duties in line with Hestia’s and BEHMHT’spolicies and procedures.
Some other main responsibilities of the role include:
- Build a therapeutic relationship with clients using a person-centred recovery approach
- Work collaboratively as part of the Core Locality Multi-Disciplinary Team with clients to develop their recovery plan and promote personal responsibility.
- Support clients to access local community resources and statutory services.
- To be the named key-worker for a number of clients
**About you**
- Implementation of NICE guidance and other statutory / best practice guidelines. (if appropriate)
- Infection Control - To be responsible for the prevention and control of infection
- Incident reporting - To report any incidents of harm or near-miss in line with the incident reporting policy ensuring appropriate actions are taken to reduce the risk of reoccurrence
- To contribute to the identification, management and reduction of risk in the area of responsibility
- To ensure monitoring of quality and compliance with standards is demonstrable within the service on an ongoing basis
- Tobeawareoftheresponsibilityofallemployeestomaintainasafeandhealthy environment for clients, visitors and staff
- Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults - To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
