**Financial Accountant**

**Length 12 months**

**Rate up to £400 per day via Umbrella or £290 via PAYE.**

**Location: Hybrid/Reading**

The Ireland Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the financial accounts of two entities in Ireland are maintained accurately, meeting both IFRS and US statutory reporting requirements. The role manages the SAP-based accounting processes for Ireland,whilst providing financial and compliance support to the local business functions.
**Core Responsibilities**:

- Manage the full process of preparing and filing local IFRS statutory accounts for the local statutory entities within the specified deadlines.
- Build a good working relationship with the external auditors, managing their requests and co-ordinating responses to queries and audit action points.
- Prepare information for local corporate tax returns timely.
- Build a good working relationship with the wider EMEA Accounting team, ensure all Finance policies, procedures and controls are rigorously applied locally in Ireland.
- Undertake full monthly reviews of the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts of each local entity, ensuring balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and supported in Blackline, with material movements explained.
- Guarantee the integrity of the local ledgers, ensuring the numbers are materially correct, and appropriate accounting treatment has been applied.
- Ensure all month end postings are made accurately, promptly, and to timetable.
- Manage the accounting and reconciliation for all bank transactions.
- Manage the posting and reconciliation of some intercompany transactions.
- Build a good working relationship with other areas of Finance that perform activities on behalf of Ireland, supporting adherence to local statutory requirements.
- Build a good working relationship with non - Finance teams in Ireland to support their local needs.
- Represent the country in discussions on global financial accounting and tax issues.
- Provide ad-hoc Accounting project support, as required.
- Share ideas and provide support to the UK Accounting team, as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Professional Accounting Qualification - ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA, with Degree level education or similar
- Directly related experience with a strong Technical Accounting background.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a multinational company.
- Attention to detail with good analytical skills.
- Proficiency in advanced accounting concepts, including core financial statement preparation of Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Accounts and Cash Flow.
- Strong computer skills utilising Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with global accounting software ERP packages, preferably SAP, and analytical tools such as CPM / Essbase.
- Strong knowledge and technical acumen for the accounting validation of business results.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent people skills; comfortable working with non-finance teams both in Ireland and the UK.
