Surveyor (Insurance)

In response to continued growth Acumen Claims Ltd has an opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor to cover the North of England. Insurance experience would be advantageous.
You will provide our clients with the highest standards of customer service whilst handling the validation and investigation of all domestic building claims. You may also agree settlement with the customer and record all activities on our systems, whilst ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures and Health and Safety legislation.
**KEY ACTIVITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- **Main Job Responsibilities **_
- Evaluate all claim information received from external surveyors employed by our repair partners. Review claim circumstances and details to establish if the claim is covered under the policy.
- Speak to policyholder for additional information if required.
- Make policy liability decision using all available information, including use of online information.
- If claim is to be declined, inform policyholder verbally and in writing, prepare report and submit to insurer. Create purchase order for contractor.
- If claim/damage is to be approved, agree repair schedule with surveyor, in line with policy cover. You will have the ability to validate a repair schedule using our inhouse scheduling tool to accurately calculate the repair cost.
- You will be required to update our claim management system of both costs and next steps.
- Identify any potential issues and highlight for policyholder and repair contractor’s benefit.
- Prepare report and submit to insurer. Advise policyholder of your decision and any relevant information.
- Appoint specialist contractors (asbestos sample, drying etc.) and provide detailed instructions in order that they attend site informed with our findings, requirements and relevant validation notes.
- Handle any amendments to the original schedule if required, validating in line with policy cover and explaining increase in costs to insurer.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
