The Vale of Glamorgan Council Housing Health and Safety Compliance Team is located within Housing and Building Services, under the Environment and Housing Directorate.
The team oversees the health and safety compliance of our council housing assets to ensure our residents, contractors, employees or visitors are living and working in safe homes, communal spaces and environments. The team is tasked with ensuring that all installations comply with the latest legislative requirements, and ensure they are serviced and inspected, maintained and replaced as and when required to maintain our compliance with latest legislation.

**About the role**
The post holder will carryout:
- Provide administrative support to the Team Manager and the Compliance Officers
- Maintaining compliance monitoring spreadsheets
- Checking and updating the Housing asset management system
- Raising purchase orders and receipting orders for payment to engaged contractors to deliver identified compliance work
- Minute taking for contractor and Management Team Meetings
- Running Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial reports
- telephone tenant’s and or leaseholders to provide updates on works being undertaken by the Housing Health and Safety Compliance Team
Hours of work -. 25 hours per week
Rate of pay - National Minimum Wage
Location of placement - Based at the Alps Depot, Quarry Road, CF6 5AA This role would be suited to hybrid working with a few days a week office based and then working from home.
Contract - Temporary (6 months)
**About you**
You will need:
- Good computer literacy with proven ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
- Good verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively in writing.
- Good people skills.
- Able to work to deadlines.
- Confident and independent with excellent problem-solving qualities.
- Self-motivated and highly flexible with an ability to adapt and promote change.
- The ability to respond positively to change in the working environment and deal effectively with work pressures when they arise.
- Demonstrate a conscientious and dedicated attitude and deal calmly with difficult situations.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good telephone manner.
**Additional information**
Employability Support
ICT training and support with a focus on internal software systems as well as improving understanding of Microsoft packages. They will also receive support on successful communication techniques and good customer care. The individual will also be able to access our IDEV system where a large range of online course are available to further develop their skills and knowledge.
