Production Planner

We have an exciting opportunity for a **Production Planner / Scheduler** to join our team based in**Welham Green.**You will be joining us on a **full-time, permanent basis**. In return, you will receive a **competitive salary.**

**Davall Gears** is a long established UK manufacturer and supplier for the design and production of gearing systems and specialist gearboxes. Established in 1886, the company have been long associated with the supply of precision gears to companiesacross the world. Registered to AS9100 Rev D, ISO9001 2008 and Nadcap special purpose EDM machining, Davall is a specialist in the aerospace and defence power transmission field and has an “in-house” design and technical department to call upon for the development,prototype and manufacture of systems and assemblies for commercial, medical, military and aerospace industries.

**Working hours**: 39 hours a week. Monday to Thursday. 08:00am until 5:00pm. Fridays 08:00 until 1:00pm

**Production Planner / Scheduler Job Overview**:
As our Production Planner / Scheduler, you will take ownership for coordinating, planning, scheduling and supervising products throughout the production process in a cost-effective way. Effectively optimising capacity and inventory to meet our customer requirements.

**General Description of ourProduction Planner / Schedulerduties**:

- Integrating the forecast from our Sales department and integrating new products into the plan and schedule
- Creating a supply plan monitoring the factory capacity, inventory and customer requirements
- Producing a master production schedule to control production and external supply
- Tracing production to schedule to ensure we are meeting committed delivery dates
- Managing the Kanban and flow system
- Analysing capacity planning
- Planning and scheduling production in-line with SO forecast demand
- Working closely with the supply chain to ensure effective scheduling of sub-contracted parts and assemblies
- Using the Progress Plus system to aid planning, recording changes, and updating information
- Planning and inventory management of all obsolete parts and assemblies
- Creation of KPI reporting data for management
- Monitoring stock levels of all products to ensure adequate level to meet customer demand
- Monitoring inventory levels against agreed levels and highlight shortages
- Supporting inventory checks to validate stock accuracy

**Skills & Experiencewe’re looking for in our Production Planner / Scheduler**:

- Excellent communication at skills at all levels and with customers
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent IT skills
- A good understanding of Lean manufacturing tools and techniques
- Must be able to work in a team environment effectively, as well as having the ability to lead a team if required
- Able to motivate others
- Strong organisational skills
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- Ability to use Progress Plus within MRP based planning function would be an advantage
- Self-starter with drive to ensure customer delivery commitments met
- Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
- Production planning scheduling skills and knowledge in a customer focused manufacturing environment with S&OP experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years in a similar role
- Understanding and knowledge of Kanban flow systems
