You will be working 37.5 hours a week at Rosebank, a 13 bedded Open Rehabilitation Hospital for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs, providing care and support to allow people to be as independent as possible with the long-term aim of peoplebeing able to take control of their lives.

With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, which will see you provide assessments, plan, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes of occupational treatments and programmes for peoplewith learning disabilities and/or autism.

Working with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the development of the occupational therapy service, which will see you carrying out service development projects.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will create individual rapports to design and deliver facilitated evidence-based group and individual programmes based on their needs and interest to ensure they engage in their care plans.

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with patient/s.
- Actively implement evidence-based practice.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard.
- Establish effective communication with patients and their cares, all staff and other agencies.
- Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery
- To fulfil a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HPC regulations.
- Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Registered OT with Dip COT qualification or degree
- Experience working with people with neurological needs
- Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry.
- Member of British Association of Occupational Therapy
- Experience in working with Forensic patients.
- Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
- Knowledge and practical experience of the Occupational Therapy process in mental health or neurological settings
- Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising OT staff and students
