Misbehaviour. To most, children who misbehave are discarded without thinking. To others, these children are the one's most deserving of help. Autistic children, with their communication challenges and poor social cues, can often be mistaken for troublemakers,and without proper support, are easy prey for criminal elements to take advantage off.
In this Autistic Specialist Provision, the mission statement is early intervention to ensure these students are given the 1:1 support they need to ensure that they are no left to go down the wrong paths in life.

**SEN Behaviour Support Assistant - Maidenhead**
At this Autistic Specialist Provision in Maidenhead, each student has a primary diagnosis of Autism, and due to the vulnerability of this, they often have a significant secondary diagnosis of mental health conditions such as anixety, depression, and in themore severe cases where there have been physical and sexual abuse, PTSD.
To meet the complexity of the needs presented at the Specialist Provision, there is a diverse range of support at the school; with a dedicated Occupational Therapy Suite and Occupational Therapist on site, a Speech + Language Therapist on site, CreativeTherapies such as Art Therapy + Drama Therapy, and lastly, a dedicated Clinical Psychologist.
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will support an Autistic child 1:1 across these disciplines, gaining valuable experience shadowing these professionals across the mental health industry, as well as assisting in the delivery of these therapies. TheHead of this Provision has stressed that for each of these disciplines their aim is to have at lease one SEN assistant training on the pathways through their extensive training programmes.
