Aon are currently recruiting a Alternative Distribution - Head of Specialty to join our team in London. The Alternative Distribution - Head of Specialty will be primarily responsible for raising and leading a suitably qualified and experienced Specialty Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) team, skilled in the placement of Binding Authorities and Alternative Distribution Transactions and retain the existing book of business and further develop it over time in line with the growth targets set by the CEO Alternate Distribution.

**About the Role**
- Your impact as a Alternative Distribution - Head of Specialty:

- Raise and lead a suitably qualified and experienced Specialty Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) team, skilled in the placement of
- Binding Authorities and Alternative Distribution Transactions.
- Retain the existing book of business and further develop it over time in line with the growth targets set by the CEO Alternate Distribution.
- Providing assistance to MGA clients and Aon colleagues on DUA placement design, available coverage and capacity, likely pricing, potential coverage enhancements and market progress
- Engaging with Aon Analytics and Modelling to deliver analysis required to develop market presentations and broking strategy.
- Place Specialty binding authorities and alternative distribution transactions within current portfolio.
- Negotiating terms and conditions of placement with the market.
- Being a team player - ability to work across the MGA and Specialty Segments of Aon Reinsurance Solutions UK and provide specialist advice/assistance to clients and colleagues.
- Building Strategic relationships and helping deliver long terms strategy for clients
- Being responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.

**About you**

**Your knowledge and expertise**:

- Strong knowledge and experience of the mechanics of delegated underwriting and the Specialty insurance segment.
- Market experience of designing and negotiating Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) placements for Specialty Insurance.
- Knowledge of, and strong relationships with, relevant DUA stakeholders
- International Specialty experience.
- The aptitude to lead a small team of Specialty brokers.
- The ability to develop an annual team business plan and deliver it.
- Significant experience of client engagement.
Professional qualifications (Cert CII).
- Strong communication skills.
- Minimum of 15 years broking experience.
- Ability to challenge the norm.
- Think strategically within framework of the Alternative Distribution team.
