We provide 24/7 residential services to the UK's most vulnerable children and young people and believe a child's future should never be defined by their past. Every child has the right to a fulfilling life, to realise their potential and to have a positive future.
The children and young people we care for may have experienced trauma that can lead them to display challenging behaviours in an effort to communicate with those around them. They require care from a reliable, committed, passionate and skilled staff team. This will support them to develop trusting relationships which provide the time and space to explore their past experiences, behaviours and current situation.
As a Waking Night Residential Support Worker your role will be to help the children and young people settle in the evening, supporting their night time routines as well as getting them up and ready for the day in the morning, there will also be light household duties.
We are looking to recruit workers who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children.
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ Children and Young People or equivalent (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- To be self-motivated and task orientated.
- Can demonstrate confidence in liaising with Social Workers, Police, and families.
- The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young people in your care.
- The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.
- Shift work - Waking nights, weekdays and weekends.
5on 5off
The key duties of the role are:
- To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of the home.
- To provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel safe and secure and free from harm. Establishing positive, warm and rewarding relationships with the children/young people.
- Be responsible for reporting regularly on each young person at the residential home and always maintain the necessary information confidentially following the quality standards.
- Light household duties
In return you will be offered a competitive salary package; pension options; full training and ongoing development and high levels of support.
