Role: Functional Skills Tutor

Location: Peterborough Skills Academy

Hours: 40 hours per week

**Salary**: £25000 - £30000 DOE

**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in functional skills, tailored to meet the needs of learners.

Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.

Collaborate with other members of the teaching team and support staff to ensure the effective development of learners, including the SEND assessor, and in-house ALS Functional Skills tutor.

Monitor and assess learner progress, providing feedback and guidance to support their ongoing learning journey.

Keep accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and achievements, in line with company policies and procedures.

Must travel to apprentice’s place of work two days a week (with mileage paid and/or pool car use). Three days a week will be classroom based.

Manage own diary effectively, with good communication with the management team.

**Qualifications**:
Experience of delivering Functional Skills, preferably in a further education or adult education setting, ideally within Apprenticeship provisions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Have an awareness of Ofsted requirements.

Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of best practices in functional skills delivery and SEND education.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
