Functional Skills /ESOL Tutor

Duties and Responsibilities of the Functional Skills and ESOL Tutor
- Delivering training and coaching sessions to small groups of learners in Functional Skills, Maths and English.
- Actively support, mentor and motivate learners through their journey to help with the timely completion of their learning aims and qualification.
- Identify learner’s strengths and weaknesses through initial assessment and support them accordingly.
- Provide insightful and constructive feedback to help the learners maximise their potential.
- Deliver outstanding learning, using creative learning strategies that will help inspire students and reach their full potential.
- Proactively monitor, evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of own workload and working practices to ensure deadlines and targets are met, and that the learner has an outstanding experience.
Experience and Knowledge required for the Functional Skills Tutor
- Recognised Teaching Qualification e.g Award in Education and Training, PTLLS, Cert Ed or equivalent.
- Assessor’s Award or equivalent is desirable.
- Previous experience of delivering Functional Skills in Maths and English up to Level 2. A Maths specialism would be highly desirable
- Previous experience of delivering ESOL
- Experience in working with young people in vulnerable groups.
- Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle
