As a Product Compliance Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in guiding clients through the complex landscape of product regulations by being the link between them and the relevant market surveillance authorities.
You will bring your experience of maintaining a regulatory compliance policy framework and of monitoring the regulatory environment providing guidance and support to ensure our clients are compliant with their products and mitigate any associated risks.
**Responsibilities**:
- First point of contact of clients, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards and directives.
- Gathering information, finding out and establishing relevant product requirements (legislation, standards, etc.) from clients to ensure they fulfil their obligations.
- Conduct and support technical Risk and Conformity Assessments with the Regulatory Compliance Assurance Manager.
- Producing and checking technical file and UK and EU conformity declarations on behalf of clients.
- Ensure that the required documentation and records such as risk assessments, declarations of conformity, technical documentation are obtained, updated and correctly stored for the required 10 years, with both public part available for our clients and protected part for the authorities access.
- Testing products for marketability and compliance checks to ensure they meet all the requirements of directives, regulations and harmonised standards e.g. Electrical safety testing: Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (LVD), EMC testing, Chemicals: tests according to REACH Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 and more.
- Handing over all necessary information and documentation to prove the conformity of products to the competent authorities.
- Cooperate with authorities in all necessary steps to ensure our clients fulfil their obligations.
- Liaise with network of Labs in US, Europe and CN.
- Coordinating with customers and third parties (such as test laboratories, safety experts and Notified Bodies) in the work to be performed e.g. project management, discussing technical problems, explaining procedures and requirements to be followed, etc.
- Assessing, proposing and giving recommendations and solutions for resolving non-conformities.
- Advising on product markings, labels and other safety information.
- Assist with H&S Audits, including follow up and action plan any recommendations found.
- Monitor and report on ongoing compliance activities such as Packaging waste, environmental impacts and assist in delivering internal training plans.
- Drive positive behaviours and culture within the business by promoting best practice and delivering continuous improvement.
- Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations regarding product safety and CE certification.
**Key skills, knowledge and experience**:
Essential
- Degree in Quality Management, Project Management, Technical Business Administration, Commercial, or Law.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a product compliance assurance field or similar.
- Expert in Product Compliance, and Audit on but not limited to: cosmetics, toys, têxtiles, food, food supplements, electronics, general product categories, chemicals, medical equipment and other CE and non-CE mark categories.
- Expert in handling inspections on products.
- Up-to-date regulatory knowledge on RoHS, General Product Safety Regulation.
- Knowledge and understanding of current legislative regulations relating to Quality, Information Security, GDPR, H&S,GSPI, Product label, Declarations of Conformity.
- Highly organised, efficient and diligent.
- Strong ability to prioritise workload and multitask between projects and tasks.
- Able to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable
- Expertise in Product Compliance for online retailers.
