One of the UK’s top 20 accountancy firms are on the search for an experienced Secretary to join their team based in St Albans. As the Secretary you will deliver secretarial support to the Partners and Managers across the office and closely support up to 30 people with administration support.
**As the Secretary, you will be responsible for**:
- Diary Management for the Partners and manage meeting room booking
- Arrange client meetings and assisting with client breakfast and lunch meetings
- Preparing first draft letters and other documents including minutes of meetings for approval
- Preparing and formatting proposals and presentations
- Preparing of Letters of Engagement and client set-up forms
- Scanning and filing client records/files, archiving where necessary.
- Opening and distributing of morning post and franking of evening post
- Paying cheques into client accounts and the office account
- Organising courier bookings
- Inputting Partner’s expenses monthly
- Processing invoices
- Team Support/Administration for tax returns process
- Managing the Reception duties which are managed on a rota
To be successful with this role you will need to have at least 3 years’ experience working within a busy secretarial role with a minimum typing speed of 50wpm. As well as this you will have:
- Advanced level knowledge of MS Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Educated, with a minimum Grade B in English at GCSE
- Familiar with typing and formatting reports - including tables and spreadsheets
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Effective organisational skills and ability to manage own workload
- Pro-active and ability to work on own initiative
- Strong team player but also able to work independently and use initiative
