**There is no better time to start a career within our Education team than now**
Would you like secure employment where you can progress your career?
**Our benefits include exclusive access to reward and discount scheme, comprehensive induction, commitment to your ongoing training and career progression, pension scheme, paid for enhanced DBS, wellbeing support, cycle to work scheme and more**
Progression House provides specialist education for young people aged 16-19 with high functioning autism. Pupils may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and a lack of social understanding.
Many of our students have come to Progression House after attending our schools that provide specialist support for children on the autistic spectrum; a big part of our role is to support the students with the transition into mainstream college.
Under direction of the Head of School, you will work mainly 1:1 with our students, with emphasis on supporting their college placement by interpreting information and presenting this in an ASD friendly format. You will provide college support in terms of staying on task, keeping track of assignments, recording progress and interventions, but also develop strategies for independent living, community and work experience.
You will have the ability to support our students’ academic learning in an autism friendly way, as well as supporting wider behavioural and emotional needs.
You will also:
- Share our passion for high aspiration and achievement for all
- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Hold a full, clean driving licence and be a confident driver in order to transport students to/from college. Ideally you will have access to your own vehicle in order to transport students to college, however school vehicles are also available
- Be highly organised and adaptable.
The following skills would also be of benefit to the role:
- A good knowledge of autism and/or experience of working with young people on the autistic spectrum.
You will be required to support students at college which may involve working/travelling outside normal working hours, so flexibility is also important to this role.
Working as a Teaching Assistant/Support Worker at Progression House is very rewarding as you play a vital role in helping our young people achieve their full potential. You will also receive all the support and training you need to make your career with us successful and fulfilling.
At Aspris Children’s Services, we are immensely proud of the career pathway and training we can offer you. As long as you can demonstrate the values needed for a role, transferable skills and life experience, we will give you all the training and support you need to progress
Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.
- If you want residential childcare to be a _**_job for life_**_, Aspris Children’s Services will help you get there._
Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our Schools.
Please note that you are wholly responsible for fact checking in respect of the information provided by schools. Please also check for the latest visa and work permit requirements that may apply.
