**About the role**
- To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
- To work 1:1 with and support the class teacher with a pupil who has SEND/Behavioural needs including assisting the pupil with personal needs as appropriate.
- To provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
- To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
- To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

**Salary & Benefits**
- NJC 3, FTE £18,887, pro rata £8,927.32 per annum
- 20 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

**Who we are looking for**
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Related experience in working within that age group and in an education setting
- Experience in working with children with SEND/ Behavioural needs
- Ability to work well as a team and follow instruction
- An understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities
- Able to use basic IT; including computers, audio video equipment and photocopiers
- Knowledge of relevant policies and codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
- To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
- Experience of general clerical/ administrative work
