Justteachers teaching agency require a Teaching Assistant to work within one of our specialist partner SEND/SEMH schools located in the Guiseley area. The schools provide education to pupils aged from 7-16 years with a range of complex needs.

This position is to start as soon as possible and is expected to continue until the end of the academic year, with potential for a long-term position from September.

The role is to work with a small group of children with specific needs. As well as supporting the children in the classroom, you will also support with all aspects of social development such as life skills leisure and recreation and self-confidence. You will assist the teacher to secure achievement and progress in the curriculum for all students.
- Ability to work 1:1 or as part of a team
- Experience working in a challenging environment
- Passionate, friendly and outgoing
- An ability to improvise and support others in case of an unexpected event occurring
- Supporting children with work set by the class teacher
- Offer good communication and able to inspire and motivate children

Previous experience of working in a special school would be advantageous but not essential

**To be eligible for this role you will ideally have**:

- Minimum of Level 2 qualification in working with children or young people or equivalent qualification
- Experience in supporting children with SEND or additional needs
- Be comfortable in assisting with personal care
- Be creative, warm and inspiring
