**The role**
Working within the Property Assets team and reporting to the Quantity Surveyor, the Quantity Surveyor Apprentice will assist the team in delivering the planned works programme, responsive repairs and projects to both housing and corporate stock, alongside new project work. This will include but will not be limited to:
- Undertake the Chartered Surveyor Apprenticeship BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying on a day release basis.
- Support the team in the preparation of formal contract documentation to be included in tender packages for various projects throughout Property Assets.
- With supervision carry out property surveys, attention meetings and prepare drawings, surveys and contract details in connection with the preparation of tender documentation for the Council’s diverse property portfolio. The role will work on both pre and post contract duties.
- Assist in the day to day running of the departments contract administration, tenant consultation and correspondence.
- Attend project/site meetings and take minutes.
- Prepare asset valuations, with guidance, including depreciation calculations to determine insurance re-instatement values of Council owned properties across the district.
**Building Surveyor Apprentice - What are we looking for?**
- Entry Level Requirements for Chartered Surveying Degree Apprenticeship as follows: (Essential)
- A-Level BBB or;
- BTEC National Diploma DDM or;
- Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits or;
- Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 128 UCAS points.
- In addition, applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Math’s and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)
- Good level of IT skills with experience using MS Office.
- Ability to adapt, working as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Able to operate in a professional manner and communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proactive in your approach to learning and working at the same time.
- Full UK driving license or working towards (desirable)
