**Senior Software Engineer**:

- Birmingham or Glasgow

**Role Overview**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Maintaining and developing our new and existing products and solutions
- Contributing to the design and implementation of new and existing software
- Collectively crafting high-quality code while understanding the value to the business.
- Contributing to the code bases and standards for your team
- Reviewing code changes/pull requests for accuracy, functionality, and risk
- Mentoring and supporting the Junior to Mid-level engineers where needed
- Identify new ways of working, technology, and processes to improve efficiencies
- Working with Product Owners and augmented teams to take business requirements into technical designs and engineering tasks

**What you'll have**:

- Experience with Python
- Experience with C# (Experience also with Java desirable)
- Experience with Unit Testing and automation (TDD desirable)
- Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD with DevOps methodologies
- Experience with cloud hosting providers - Azure (desirable)
- Experience with Odoo is not fundamental but would be highly desirable
- Experience coaching and mentoring up and coming developers (desirable)
- The capabilities and desire to work in a large organisation, working with and influencing change within other teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with an innovative mindset
- Self-starter attitude, taking ownership and driving forward the work from conception to delivery
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with other areas, and to interact efficiently with others

**Technologies we use**:

- Python, powered by Odoo

- MsSQL, Postgres

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Proven hands-on Microsoft.Net Software Development experience
- Experience in Python / ERP systems would be desirable.
- Experience in SharePoint Online and the Power Platform would be desirable.
- Hands on experience working in integrated development environments.
- Hands on experience in designing and developing software using Microsoft technologies
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies
- Experience with cloud technologies, principally Microsoft Azure
- Experience with test-driven development
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Experience with communicating business needs to technical teams.
