We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the Software Development team. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior members of the team, as well as the creation and maintenance of our internal software (EGS), API’s, websites and customer portals. Your main responsibilities will require you to design, implement, test, document, maintain and support bespoke software to meet the needs of the business. This will also involve working with others in the development team and internal stake holders, as wellas some external clients and service providers. You will be expected to Lead, supervise, advise and mentor junior members of the team, to help them learn and grow. Undertake system’s administration and DevOp’s relating to development and production servermaintenance and deployment related tasks. **Personal Skills** - Leadership - Collaborative - Diligent and thorough - High coding standards - An eye for details - Analytical skills - Problem-solver - Good team interaction **Qualifications/Technical Skills**: **Primary (required)** - OOPHP >= 5.6 - HTML5 - CSS3 - Javascript - jQuery - One or both of MySQL and PostgreSQL - Git - Amazon Web Services (AWS) - Intermediate Linux command line - Experience with (H)MVC frameworks **Secondary (desired)** - AngularJS - PostrgreSQL - Experience with issue tracking and workflows - Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies - Experience maintaining technical documentation - Experience consuming third party APIs - Advanced Linux command line - Experience with ORMs (e.g. Doctrine, Propel) - Symfony 2 - Laravel - Smarty - Documentation skills About Us Glide started life as separate businesses delivering broadband, utilities and communications services to different markets across the UK.
