**This is a Part Time (18 hours a week), Fixed-Term Contract until 31st March 2026.**
The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth (Fort Cumberland) and Cambridge.

**What you will be doing**
As our National Programme Officer, you will work with the National Programme Manager to provide a central Programme Management Office (PMO) function to enable delivery of the Heritage at Risk Capital Fund. Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the organisation, the role will lead a team providing central PMO in compliance with Government Functional Standard GovS002 Project Delivery.
The role sits within Business Improvement Group, a dynamic part of Historic England committed to enabling innovative delivery, developing HE as an organisation and focusing its performance.
**Who we are looking for**
- Proven experience of supporting and/or planning and managing programmes or projects
- Shows initiative and is proactive in supporting projects/programmes and their colleagues
- Strong IT skills
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Highly organised and forward planning their workload to meet tight deadlines
