At DfE, we are proud of the commitment we make to diversity and inclusion and of the progress we have made. We have active & vibrant staff networks, special leave policies and workplace adjustments put in place for those who need them. We are continuing to build a diverse DfE, in an inclusive environment which nurtures and realises potential in all, at all levels.

Equality and Diversity - Department for Education

In 2017, the Government published its Green Paper for Transforming children and young people’s mental health, which detailed proposals for expanding access to mental health care for children and young people. These core commitments are delivered through a joint and collaborative program led by the Department of Health and Social Care, Department for Education and NHS England and NHS Improvement. The Mental Health Delivery Division is formed of four workstreams who all contribute to delivering these core commitments.

We are looking for a Business Support Officer; this is an exciting time to join a team delivering a priority program in a tangible and important area.

You will be working in a busy environment with changing priorities. As such, it is vital you are able to quickly orientate yourself within a cross location team and demonstrate flexibility in your approach to working with multiple teams within the division. Excellent communication and team working skills will be key to working with colleagues, the ability to use evidence and data to inform decisions, as well as using innovation to shape future work. You’ll also need to be organised and be able to balance a range of work at once, responding flexibly when priorities change.

**Job description**:
The post holder will provide project delivery support to the DfE national teams implementing Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) and Senior Mental Health lead training, and the division’s regional team who support successful programme roll-out.

The role also includes the provision of administrative support across the division, working closely with one other support team colleague.

**Specific responsibilities include**:

- Supporting the division to function effectively and continuously improve way of working, for example, through organising divisional meetings, maintaining organisational information, managing data, and supporting our response to departmental commissions, and providing secretariat functions for governance groups.
- Supporting teams to deliver their objectives, for example, through organising meetings, managing mailboxes, helping to manage and use data effectively, monitor plans and support reporting.
- Enabling the division to respond effectively to business of state, for example, through coordinating responses to Parliamentary Questions or Freedom of Information requests.

You will be welcomed into an inclusive team and encouraged to contribute your views and support to continually improve our culture and how we work together - helping us to ensure the division is a great place to work.
