**Job Title - Head of Subcontracting**

Archbold Logistics is a company focussing on providing a quality service at the best price which operates within the Logistics and Warehousing sector. We are a family business with over 100 years+ trading.

Due to unprecedented demand for our services together with our desire to strengthen our Manchester team, we are seeking to employ an enthusiastic, dynamic individual who can head up and develop our sub-contracting team.

The successful individual will be responsible for the management and development of all operational and commercial activities of the sub-contract division with particular emphasis on ensuring customer requirements are met and revenue generation opportunities are maximised. You will be accountable for maximisation of gross margin for all sub-contracted work whilst ensuring all company objectives and targets are met.

**Main duties and responsibilities**

1. To proactively generate sales leads and opportunities to meet or exceed the Archbold Sub-contract division budget

2. To plan and enhance the sub-contractor supplier portfolio.

3. To maximise subcontracted work gross margin using reliable/reputable and professional suppliers.

4. To ensure subcontractors are communicated to in writing detailing exact requirements and constraints, and rates are agreed formally

5. To record and promptly action any issues with deliveries or collections which may occur from time to time.

6. To ensure all work is recorded in the appropriate TMS system

8. Produce KPI reports including subbed work vs revenue. Margin vs revenue. Subbed loads per supplier/customer and any others that are applicable

9. To assist with general traffic calls and update the planning system with the correct information

10. To ensure all operational matters are monitored over a 24x7 period.

11. To work closely with the finance team to capture all invoicing and debtor management.

12. Assist colleagues in providing cover with other roles within the department as and when

reasonably requested by your or Manager.

13. Involve yourself with team principles that continuously endeavour to achieve quality, improvement & high performance.

14. Ensure the protection and good care of all the Company’s assets, equipment, materials and intellectual property and that there is no misappropriation of any by the job holder.

15. Adhere to all Company policies & procedures relating to Health & Safety, Quality Control, Human Resources, operational etc.

16. Undertake any other duties to the benefit of the Company as reasonably requested by your Supervisor/Manager.

**Salary** - **Open to negotiation - based on experience**

Full time and permanent position

45 hours per week
