Borough Market Cheese Stall Supervisor and Van

**The Bath Soft Cheese Company is an award-winning artisan cheese producer. The iconic Borough Market is home to our flagship cheese stall and ‘The Bath Dairy’; our first hot food stall, which opened in 2019.**

**We're looking for a dedicated Manager to drive consumer and wholesale cheese sales, and to oversee the day to day running and management of the Borough Market Cheese Stall in this vibrant location.**

This job would encompass maximising sales of our cheeses, ice creams, milkshakes and other sales opportunities including managing and developing London wholesale customers. In addition, to oversee the day-to-day running of the Cheese Stall and preparing stock and equipment for our weekend Farmers Markets.*The person in this role would be expected to be a Cheese Stall Manager and would be trained in all the skills needed to work on the stall including EOD reporting, ordering stock, serving and till operation. Every other weekend would be driving our company van to farmers market and supervising a Market stall.

**Hours - Full Time; 5 days a week.**

**40hrs per week. 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday and/or Wednesday-Sunday**

Key Responsibilities*
- Ensuring that the Borough cheese stall looks fantastic at all times, keeping it well stocked with attractive displays to drive and maximise sales opportunities, including creating attractive seasonal and promotional displays
- Promoting our cheeses and communicating the stories behind them to staff and customers
- Cleaning down and ensuring the stall and equipment are spotlessly clean at all times.
- Preparing stock and markets equipment in readiness for weekend farmers markets
- Putting ideas and stories to promote the cheese stall and catered food stall to our Social Media Manager.
- Fulfilling orders through the Borough Online platform partner ‘Good Sixty’
- Organising weekly deliveries of cheese stock from our farm to Borough Market and organising our own van deliveries from Borough to London wholesale customers.
- Supporting the weekend market drivers to operate their run efficiently and doing the driving for the farmers markets using company vans every other weekend.
- Liaising with key stakeholders and Borough Market Managers to resolve any day to day problems or fixes.
- Ensuring health & safety and food compliance standards are maintained in accordance with FSA guidelines.
- Preparing stalls for EHO and local authority inspections.

**Skills and Experience**

**Essential**
- A passion for cheese
- Cutting, wrapping, storing and selling cheese
- Willingness to learn about cheese and communicate this with customers and the team
- One years experience in a similar food retail position
- Good geographical knowledge of central London

**Desirable**
- Min Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
- Knowledge of Borough Market and local artisan producers
- Experience of managing a Delicatessen or Cheese Counter
