Nottingham, United Kingdom Health Research Authority Full time

The Public Involvement Officer will be a key support across the Public Involvement Team and the Communications Team. This creative and ambitious post holder will support and work with the Website Development Manager and Product and Delivery Manager on a specific project within our programme of work. The role is a fixed term contract to support the specific website project. The project is to redevelop the HRA’s external website to support and amplify the organisation’s new mission and strategy. The newly developed website will be our flagship owned communications channel, used to engage with patients, participants and the public and build trust in health and social care research and surface accessible data about studies, with clear user journeys around engaging ethics-led content.

The Public Involvement Officer will help to ensure that the project is well planned, facilitated, delivered, and embeds public involvement at its heart. The Public Involvement Officer will also ensure delivery to timelines and oversee tasks, where appropriate, whilst managing their own workload.

The Public Involvement Officer will advocate for patient and public involvement and provide guidance about patient and public involvement in research. The Officer will support the Public Involvement team’s work as well as with Research Ethics Committee members and external stakeholders. Much of their work involves collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

The Public Involvement Officer will lead on activities to support the involvement of patients and the public in the HRA’s own work, specifically around the development of our new website, and proactively feeds into a process of continuous improvement in Public Involvement at the HRA.

Working at the HRA, we are reminded daily of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for you, not just us and the work we do.
