**About the job**

Typically, the work involves the preparation, marketing and sale of machinery and business assets either by online auction or sales by private treaty from sites around the South West of England for our clients; namely business restructuring companies, financial institutions, and private businesses.

It is our duty to obtain the best prices for our clients’ machinery and other business assets.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, versatile, and principled individual to join our busy national professional practice of RICS and NAVA registered Machinery and Business Assets Valuers and Auctioneers.

An interest in and skills with social media marketing and any first-aid or health & safety experience would also be hugely beneficial.

Although the position will be based in our Exeter office, this will be a hybrid role with some home working and site work as well, therefore the applicant must be practical and able to work on their own initiative, be prepared to travel to sites around the South West of England and occasionally beyond with overnight stays. A full UK driving license is essential. A car allowance/company car will be provided

The role will also include meeting with clients, colleagues, purchasers, and other professionals and therefore the successful applicant will be personable, presentable with absolute integrity and unfaltering high morals. Good communication and organisational skills will be of high importance.

Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent, applicants with experience in engineering or other manufacturing sectors, accounting, marketing or business advisory sectors are all encouraged to apply.

**Site Work**
- Preparing sites for online auctions. Undertaking risk assessments on the premises and the assets,
- Detailing the assets, cataloguing, lotting and photographing assets. Some assets will need to be physically moved
- Overseeing viewers, purchasers of the assets and their hauliers
- Overseeing collections of third party items
- Overseeing removal of waste products, debris, and company paperwork for shredding
- Ensuring premises are left clear, tidy and free of any hazards
- Assisting valuers with site notes, and photographs
- Overseeing suppliers' retention of title claims

**Office Work**
- Uploading full sale details with the lot descriptions and photographs to online auction platform
- Considering marketing, estimating costs involved and drafting disposal strategy
- Reviewing registrations on the bidding platform and authorising bidding ability
- Overseeing the closing of the online auction
- Liaising with clients to confirm sales achieved
- Obtaining purchasers removal method statements for review
- Coordinating purchasers’ collection of assets from the site
- On-going business development and marketing
- Checking colleagues' notes and calculations
- Liaising with third parties
- Internet valuation research
- Valuation research, online auction sale results
