**Position: Student Support Officer (Wellbeing)**

**Location: Sheffield**

**Hours: 28 hours per week (4 days per week)**

**Salary: £23,200 per annum (pro rata based on £29,000 FTE)**

As WaterBear continues to grow, we’re looking for a passionate and empathetic Student Support Officer (Wellbeing) to join our team in Sheffield. This role is pivotal in ensuring our students—whether on-campus or online—feel supported, empowered, and heard.

**Your Role**
You’ll be a key member of our Student Services team, delivering frontline pastoral and wellbeing support. From one-to-one sessions to proactive mental health campaigns, your work will make a real difference in the lives of our students

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide confidential, empathetic 1:1 support for student wellbeing concerns
- Triage student needs and escalate urgent cases appropriately
- Deliver wellbeing workshops and mental health awareness campaigns
- Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
- Maintain accurate records and support safeguarding procedures
- Collaborate with academic and support teams to ensure a joined-up student experience
- Contribute to the development of wellbeing initiatives and policy

**About You**
We’re looking for someone who is:

- Experienced in student support or wellbeing
- Compassionate, approachable and confident in safeguarding practices
- Able to keep accurate records in line with GDPR guidance
- A proactive communicator and collaborative team player
- Passionate about student mental health and inclusion

**Preferred Qualifications and experience**:

- Relevant qualification in counselling, education, wellbeing or a related field
- Mental Health First Aid or trauma-informed care training
- Knowledge of local and national support networks and services
