**At Trevelyan House Surgery, we strive to provide supportive and friendly working environment for all of our staff. In turn, we provide a warm and welcoming service to our patients, who over the years, have built up very strong relationships withour long-standing team members (both clinical and non-clinical), which we aim to maintain.**

**Main Duties**:

- Welcome patients in reception area, note their attendance on the computer, or make the appropriate appointment, monitor the flow of patients into consulting and treatment rooms.
- Explain the practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure the correct procedures are completed.
- Book appointments and recalls ensuring sufficient information is recorded to retrieve medical record.
- Receive and make calls as required. Divert calls and take messages as appropriate ensuring that full details including name and return telephone number are obtained from caller leaving message.
- Ensure that confidential patient information is stored and handled according to protocol and report any concerns to your line manager.
- Ensure patient and Practice information is kept confidential and secure at all times, in accordance with the Information Security and Confidentiality protocols.
- To offer a polite, friendly and efficient level of customer service to all our patients.
- To listen to feedback from patients and colleagues whether this be a complaint, comment or compliment and if it cannot be dealt with immediately, ensure it is reported immediately to a member of the Practice Management Team.
- To work within the guidelines set by CQC to ensure that the Practice is safe, efficient and provides the best possible care for patients.
- To work within COVIDguidlines and ensure both patients and staff are safe.
- Action requests for ambulance transportation and enter details in appropriate book
- To be able to follow up and record urgently, requested results verbally from various hospitals or departments.

**Essential criteria**:

- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to work without supervision
- Knowledge of microsoft office

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience using EMIS
- Experience working as a medical receptionist
