**Job Title: Jobs Coach**

**Responsible to: Contracts Manager**

**Principal Contacts: Learners, Tutors, Contracts Manager**

**Location: Centre Based**

**The purpose of the position**

The role will involve supporting the learners to access appropriate training, in order to gain employment in the construction sector. The post holder, at each centre, will manage a caseload of learners and provide them with employability and personal development support. The role will be to ensure that learners are matched with the appropriate job opportunity in the local area and track sustained employment outcomes. The role will involve supporting learners with Information Advice and Guidance (IAG). The role will involve providing general adminsitraive assistance at the Centre

**Principle duties and responsibilities**
- Work in conjunction with the Centre Manager/Contracts Manager to highlight appropriate job opportunities in the local area.
- To provide general admistrative support at the centre.
- Work with the tutors and assessors to highlight suitable job opportunities for our learners.
- Ensure learners are referred and matched with appropriate job opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective students
- Support the Tutors and Assessors in the classroom
- Support the learners with Safeguarding or welfare support.
- Delivery of employability skills and personal development sessions
- Compile regular reports to be included in weekly, monthly and annual statistical for job opportunities and outcomes
- Build relations with future employers and construction companies to highlight upcoming job opportunities.
- Ensure that the jobs boards (both physical and virtual) are updated with current roles.
- Track and report success rates for those students who have found employment at the end of their course
- Develop contingency plans and support those students who are unable to find gainful employment
- Provide Invigilator and CSCS support when required.
- To carry out any other duties that are within the employee’s skills and abilities wherever reasonably instructed

**Key experience, knowledge and skills**
- Experience of supporting learners into employment
- Experience of working with key stakeholders to highlight job opportunities.
- Experience of providing IAG to learners
- Excellent communication skills across a diverse range of client and stakeholders
- Experience of working within a sales focused environment preferable recruitment
- Experience of delivery or support with training sessions and employability skills.
- Proven ability to organise own workload and to cope with a variety of task demands
- Awareness of working in a multicultural environment
- Good understanding of the construction industry and job requirements.
- Strong verbal and written English language communication skills
- Computer literacy skills inclusive of demonstrated competence with the Microsoft Office suite - PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook

**Qualification and training required**
- Functional Skills at level 2 or above
- IAG Level 2 or above or willing to work towards

The Skills Centre is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and safeguarding checks will take place. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the exemption order 1975,2013,2020 and an enhanced DBS check will be undertaken for the role.
