We are looking to recruit a Trainee Health & Safety Advisor to join a fast moving, dynamic business.

You will work alongside the Health & Safety Advisors and Health & Safety Director to work to help minimise the impact of workplace accidents and injuries, as well as recognising and mitigating risks to protect all personnel across the site. You’ll work with all areas of the business to support the embedment of our Health & Safety values and procedures.

This will be supported and facilitated through the completion of audits of health & safety aspects of business performance, identifying and assisting in remedying areas of non conformance and or areas for enhancement, while producing and monitoring statistical reports of health & safety performance across the business to identify continuous improvement opportunities in safety performance

**Duties & Responsibility**:

- Completion of risk assessments, inclusive of consultation with work area / activity specialists within departments on site
- Creation of safe systems of work following consultation with work area / activity specialists within departments on site
- Creation of training registers
- To recommend safety changes to protect workers
- Highlight non-conformances and report these to the Health & Safety Director
- Deliver health & safety briefings and toolbox talks as required
- Promote a positive health & safety culture within the organisation
- Support health & safety departmental representatives with health & safety projects
- Assist in incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Complete health & safety audits as required by the Health & Safety Director
- Complete workplace observations as required by the Health & Safety Director
- Support in the communication of health & safety policy and strategy documents to the wider company
- Compile accident and incident report records and produce periodic statistics in these areas
- Maintain near miss records and liaise with departmental managers regarding near miss reports in their areas
- Manage health & safety training records
- Schedule and administer health & safety training courses
- Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by what you do or do not do.
- Cooperate with the employer on health and safety matters at all times
- Use PPE provided, report missing or damaged items.
- Follow procedures and risk assessments, highlight non-compliance immediately.
- Report hazards, defects, non-conformances, and faults promptly. Report immediately to the most senior member of staff present on the premises when a hazard, fault, or defect becomes apparent.
- Carry out instructions on safety notices and hazard signs
- Follow COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) regulations on the correct usage of all chemicals.

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£26,250.00 per year
