Fibre Trainee

The main purpose of your role is to be as part of a fibre network build and maintenance team engaged in blowing fibre optic cables between Zzoomm communication cabinets (Gateway, Access and Local Drop Cabinets) using preinstalled ducts. Once the cables are installed you will be responsible for splicing, terminating and testing the end-to-end integrity of the fibre installation.

We will rely on you to ensure that our fibre network is installed to the highest standards, you will take pride in the quality of your workmanship.

**Your key responsibilities are**
- You will travel to sites where our build crews have recently installed cabinets, chambers and buried ducts and you will blow fibre optic cables through the ducts to connect the network components together. You will be following a fibre cabling plan provided by our Design function and once installed, you will carry out all necessary splicing and termination and then carry out a set of tests that will confirm the integrity and conformance to standards of each fibre section.
- You will be expected to install and terminate fibre optic cables in absolute conformance to Zzoomm standards and take pride in the quality of the work you do.
- We will expect you and your colleagues in the fibre installation crew to work in such a way that disruption to the public is minimised and every opportunity to show Zzoomm as a considerate organisation is taken and our reputation is enhanced.
- As Zzoomm Is a start-up Company, there will be a need for all employees to be prepared to work flexibly from time to time to get things done. We will all succeed by working as a team and with every Individual contributing their skills and experience as needed.

You will report to Regional Fibre Manager on daily basis.

You will be working every day with fellow fibre team members who will be supporting you on day-to-day tasks and training.
