Our client, an innovative manufacturing organisation based in the South Birmingham region are looking for a commercially minded Assistant Financial Controller to head up the finance department and support their continued growth trajectory in a time of unparalleledgrowth.

The Assistant Financial Controller will support the Financial Controller in managing the Finance team, implementing and maintaining internal controls and reporting key plant performance information.

**Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Financial Controller**
- Work as an integral part of the Plant Finance and Management team providing support and control to the south Birmingham site
- Assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of corporate and internal reporting to ensure adherence to timetables, financial integrity and completeness
- Assist in budget and short-term forecast preparation, profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet
- Management of 3 direct reports
- Management of key KPIs including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Full responsibility for Free Cash Flow forecasting, monitoring and reporting
- Pursuing Continuous Improvements to financial controls and other operational processes within the business
- Management and completion of month-end processes including variance analysis
- Reporting plant performance (actual, budgets, forecasts, variance walks) through Hyperion
- Working closely with external auditors for year end and interim audit work
- To review, maintain and implement internal controls including quarterly SOX testing
- Development of direct report heads to achieve personal and professional goals
- To complete ad hoc tasks as and when required
- To support other team members as and when required

**Key essentials of the Assistant Financial Controller**
- Extensive experience in all areas of accounting (E.g., ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant experience as a user of IBM iSeries (AS400) and AS400Query
- Computer and IT literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think laterally with a strategic perspective
- Able to convey complex data and concepts to all levels of the organisation and to achieve agreement with key stakeholders and decision makers in a manner that they can understand
