Marketing and Social Media Intern

The Dockyard Social, a local Street Food and Events venue in the West End of Glasgow are looking for a marketing and events intern to join our team.

We’re heading into a busy season of events and are looking to improve our team with the addition of a Marketing + Events Intern to help promote and coordinate our in-house events as well as assisting in the delivery of our Private Events and Weddings.

This role would be ideal for a student/recent postgraduate who is looking for first hand experience in the events and marketing industry.

HOURS

This role is initially for 10-15 hours per week with the possibilty of more becoming available in due course.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

From Weddings to Dog Markets, Abba Themed Disco Nights to large Corporate Conferences we have a wide range of events for you to get involved in.

Outside of Events we are a Bars and Street Food venue and are always looking to improve our existing offering to customers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA
- Be comfortable with using
- filming content and writing descriptions
- all social media channels (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook).
- Have an awareness of social media algorithms and the best forms of media to improve engagement, reach and following.
- Analyse market trends and data.
- Assist the team in creating social media campaigns.

IN-HOUSE EVENTS
- Create proposals for in-house events.
- Create marketing campaigns for events.
- Assist in the administrative duties in the lead up to events.
- Assist the management team in coordinating these events.
- Generate leads and turn to sales.
- Help deliver post-event marketing content.
- Collaborate with external parties e.g. Events Organisers/Private Organisations/Alcohol Reps where necessary.

OUT OF HOUSE EVENTS
- Create an out of house events rota which the Dockyard can take advantage of e.g. hydro/sec gigs.
- Create marketing campaigns directed towards taking advantage of out of house events.

GENERAL SERVICE
- Create marketing campaigns for general service.
- Generate ideas on how we may improve our general service.
- Help generate leads and turn to sales via social media marketing campaigns.
- Assess market trends.

PRIVATE EVENTS
- Create marketing campaigns for private events.
- Be the point of contact for private events and manage individuals/private bodies expectations
- Assist the management team in coordinating private events.
- Contact local businesses with our events brochure, generating leads and turning these into sales all while building the Dockyard Social brand.

WEDDINGS
- Create marketing campaigns for weddings.
- Be the point of contact for Wedding enquiries and developing these into bookings.
- Assist the management team in coordinating Weddings
- Contact local businesses with our Wedding brochure, generating leads and turning these into sales all while building the Dockyard Social brand.
- Collaborate with external bodies e.g. florist, entertainment where necessary.

ADMINSTRATIVE DUTIES
- Coordinating events
- Communicating updates with front of house staff and traders.

RATE OF PAY + BENEFITS
- Competitive rate of pay - £10.50 p/h
