**PURPOSE OF ROLE**:
To oversee and direct all design engineers, drafters, and technical engineers working on specific projects. To manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs. To oversee product construction and testing in order to ensure completionof projects as efficiently and effectively as possible. Evaluate and approve changes that substantially impact the scope, budget,or schedule of a project.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop the Costing element within the Projects department.
- Resolve escalated issues arising from operations/production requiring coordination with other departments.
- Issuing, validation and maintenance of the project equipment lists and /or other key engineering documents as applicable to each project.
- Effective interdisciplinary coordination in particular through weekly meetings and taking the necessary technical decisions in case of unresolved conflicts between disciplines.
- Project planning definition by providing engineering milestones and requirements.
- Ensure that engineering activity is compliant with project milestones. Alerting key stakeholders in case of unforeseen variation and suggest any mitigation measures if needed.
- Effective technical coordination with Client representatives.
- Lead and attend design and safety reviews, attend internal project, commercial and technical meetings and supervise the follow up of the outcomes.
- Contribute to Project reporting (activities, quantities, budget, Profit & Loss, areas of concern).
- Contract management by initiating, collecting and consolidating the variation requests and change orders.
- Initiate Value engineering and best practice.
- Ensure that the engineering final data dossier is properly prepared and filed and that lessons learned for engineering are clearly identified.
- Estimate Project prices.
- Provide instructions to the engineering team through project engineering instructions and procedures.
- Produce Take-Offs from Tender drawings.
- Prepare quotes for customers to reflect the products we plan to supply to the contract.
- Ensure product and scope of works from the quotation meets the customer requirements and all relevant engineering and safety standards and regulations are adhered to.
- Track project forecasting.
- Liaise with the Head of Applications, Projects & Engineering and Regional Sales Managers on project updates, reference status and development.
- Oversee all projects through to successful completion.
**EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE**:
- Minimum of 5+ years' relevant professional experience and a strong track record in the management of detailed engineering activities.
- Working knowledge of electrical circuitry and design
- Strong people management experience and skills to handle corrective actions, performance improvement, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Experience of delivering against budgets, including identifying and delivering ongoing cost reductions.
- Demonstrable track record of working to KPls and targets.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, E-Plan.
- Advanced IT knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
QUALIFICATIONS
Engineering degree or equivalent
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
Minimum Six Sigma Green Belt
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
