As a result of the growth of the charity in recent years we now have an exciting opportunity to join our small fundraising team raising money for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity.
We are looking for a Supporter Services Fundraising Officer who is passionate about health charities and the role the charity plays in supporting the needs of local patients. As a key member of the Charity Team, the Supporter Services Fundraising Officer is an important link between the hospital charity, donors and the local community.
The role is predominantly based at Ipswich Hospital however it is desirable for the applicant to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle as some cross site working and support at fundraising events may be required from time to time.

The post holder must be highly organised and will work closely with colleagues to deliver an effective donor experience to fundraisers and volunteers within the community who are raising funds for specific appeals, campaigns, wards, departments and general purposes.

Supporter Engagement
- Good telephone manner to answer queries regarding supporting the charity, gift aid, donations and payment details
- Signpost supporters to fundraising managers where appropriate or send fundraising packs
- Make arrangements with hospital staff and local press/photographers to meet donors and prospective donors on site as appropriate to explain about the charity and/or receive donations
- Build relationships with supporters for cultivation that will benefit the charity
- Work with fundraising colleagues to share information and ensure supporter potential is maximised to benefit the charity
- Deliver a good customer experience so that the hospital’s charity is the charity of choice for people in the trust’s catchment area
- Keep up to-date with fundraising codes of practice and regulations in relation to areas of responsibility and ensure they are implemented appropriately
- Contribute to social media presence & help to distribute promotional material as required
- Support with organising and running in house charity events and attend regional activities and events if required as part of the wider charity team to encourage donations and develop greater volunteers support
- Responsible for organising store collections including the promotional materials and volunteer schedule required
- Nurture relationships with hospital staff to encourage the creation of and participation in fundraising events and promoting the profile of the charity internally
- Responsible for raising purchase orders and ordering of materials for use by the charity team ensuring all invoices are forwarded to the relevant signatory and finance teams for processing
- Responsible for maintaining database of volunteers and volunteer newsletter preferences
- Responsible for maintaining database of collection pots and buckets and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines for their use
- Manage the team Outlook Calendar and populate with charity own and third party events and activities or external visits requiring support
- Support the AD Charity with managing charitable funds committee agendas, papers, minutes and action logs
- Support the AD Charity with executive assistant support maintaining diaries, planning meetings, administering annual leave and expenses requests.
