Cambridge, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

The Cambridge Admissions Office is looking for a Postgraduate Widening Participation Assistant to work with the team on high-profile, innovative projects that aim to improve access to postgraduate study for applicants from underrepresented backgrounds.

We work closely with colleagues across the University and Colleges, in addition to other institutions and external partners. As the work of our team grows, we are hiring a new team member to provide administrative support to the team manager and project coordinators.

Our team is currently working on a number of exciting projects, including student research internships and collaborative admissions work with other institutions. You will be working with the team on these projects by assisting with the planning and delivery of events, providing administrative support to working groups, and disseminating information to stakeholders.

As Postgraduate Widening Participation Assistant, you will have excellent communication skills, and creative ideas about how we can share information about our work with prospective applicants, colleagues and the wider sector.

You will be involved in recruitment of student mentors and consultants, and you will be responsible for completing employment checks and processing payments to them. As a new team, we are developing processes and systems to ensure that we are efficient in our work, and you will play an important part in helping to establish these.

The University operates a hybrid working policy, with staff able to benefit from working both in the office and at home. The Cambridge Admissions Office is based within the Student Services Centre on the New Museums Site in central Cambridge.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.

The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
