**Hours**: 7am-4:30pm approx. 34-42 hours per week

Kelly Services are recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to work for a local Council in Nottinghamshire who are one of the largest employers in Nottinghamshire.
**Your new Job**
We currently require a Grounds Maintenance Operative to work at various Council sites in South or East Nottinghamshire Working approx. 7am-4:30pm 4- 5 days a week, 34 -42 hours in total. The role will include all aspects of Grounds Maintenance of Council locationsto support the delivery of an effective landscape service on designated sites, in compliance with the agreed contract specification/service level agreement
**Duties and Responsibilities**

- Skilled horticultural sportsground/arboricultural operations, including all duties as groundsperson.
- Measuring, setting out and marking of all sports facilities, including football, hockey, rugby and athletics.
- Preparing and maintaining sports facilities, including facilities for soccer, hockey, rugby, athletics, tennis, cricket, bowls, golf and all other sporting events. Facilities to include natural turf, hard porous, other non-turf surfaces including concrete,tarmac, simulated turf and other synthetic surfaces.
- Maintaining the landscape and grounds, including the maintenance and preparation of border shrub care, pruning and tree work.
- Maintaining plant, machinery and equipment.
- Working on all aspects of landscape construction and development of sports facilities, including cultivation and seeding, grading and planting trees and shrubs. Facilities to include natural turf, hard porous, other non-turf surfaces including concrete,tarmac, simulated turf and other synthetic surfaces.
- Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of him/herself and other persons who may be affected by his/her activities and where appropriate safeguarding the health and safety of all persons under his/her control and guidance in accordance within theprovision of health and safety legislation.
- Exercising proper care in handling, operating and safeguarding any equipment or appliances provided and issued by the County.

**Other Duties**
Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of him/herself and other persons who may be affected by his/her activities and where appropriate safeguarding the health and safety of all persons under his/her control and guidance in accordance within the provisionof health and safety legislation.
**Skills you need to succeed**
We are looking for applicants with either previous experience and knowledge of Grounds Maintenance work or a keen interest. Also someone who has the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative and someone who can understand customer needsand provide a high standard of customer service.
A full UK driving license would be an advantage.
A current Enhanced DBS will be required due to work including some school grounds.
**What this opportunity will do for you**
This job is for an immediate start. Pay for this role is £10 per hour working 34-42 hours over 4 -5 days a week.
