Lead Nurse - Imaging

Location :The Wellington Hospital, Wellington Place, London, NW8 9LE

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday . You will need to be flexible to work between 8am -8pm, also plus on call.

About the Role

The Lead Nurse will facilitate the day to day management of nurses in the department, their clinical effectiveness and professional development in line with department policies. Maintain a high quality, cost effective nursing and interventional service with a emphasis on patient needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

To provide professional leadership and efficiency in the day-to-day running of the nursing team across imaging.
To facilitate that the highest clinical standards of nursing and patient care are achieved. To develop common service standards that can be applied across the department and that these are known throughout the facility.
To manage the induction, and participate in the education and training programs of nurses and clinical radiology department assistants. Focusing on high quality nursing techniques and changing clinical need, closely linked with individual professional development.
To have expert knowledge and understanding of interventional procedures and applies principles based on evidence-based practice and has expert understanding of all medical devices used in imaging department
Advance skills in handling equipment within radiology department and ensure availability of medical devices needed for any imaging procedures

Skills & Experience

NMC registered
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Nursing.
Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedure.
Extensive experience in Radiology.
Previous supervisory experience is essential.
