Westminster, United Kingdom City of Westminster Council Full time

**About Us**:
**THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF ROCHELLE’S COMPASSION**

Antisocial Behaviour in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where kindness is key and community connection comes first.

Our people lead with empathy, always. Nobody lives those values better than Rochelle. Building on her experience from the frontline, she now consistently leads the team, thinking creatively and ensuring they go above and beyond for the local people they work with. Take Peter, a man struggling to settle into his new flat after a lifetime on the streets. Faced with loneliness, and a distrust of authority, he found it difficult to adjust to his new reality. Rochelle was not only his housing officer; she was a friendly face in good times and bad, and the support system he needed to get him back on his feet. The work she did with him was invaluable. And the change almost immediate. Now she’s on a mission to change more lives, and to transform the way that anti-social behaviour is looked at throughout Westminster.

**The Role**:
As an Antisocial Behaviour Case Officer, you can make your own powerful contribution to the community, helping residents to enjoy their homes in peace. It’s a visible and independent role in which you’ll lead on your own case list. Getting out and about on local estates, you’ll investigate reports of antisocial behaviour. And you’ll get stuck into resolving issues for everyone’s benefit.

Taking a hands-on approach, you’ll report on both individual and estate-wide issues, helping people feel safe where they live. Along the way, you’ll really get to know the community. You’ll also work with a range of partners across the city, including Westminster’s specialists in mental health, adult social care, gangs and exploitation, as well as external organisations including the police and local schools.

You’ll interview perpetrators and complainants, hold residents’ surgeries and case conference meetings, and create action plans - all with the support of our legal team where necessary. When it comes to enforcement, you’ll use your judgement to decide whether a legal route is the right way forward.

You’ll enjoy the chance to use your empathy and investigative skills to support some of the most vulnerable people in society. Regular training and the opportunity for mentoring will keep you on top of your game.

Training is provided within the team and council wide.

Please refer to the** **Job Description** for more information.

**About You**:
To join our team, you’ll need experience which is either directly relevant or adaptable to this field of work. You’ll certainly need to demonstrate experience of managing an independent caseload, and of working with members of the public, managing challenging behaviours. Knowledge of Housing and Antisocial Behaviour legislation is vital, too.

We expect you to demonstrate skills in time management, as well as a flair for building relationships and communicating with all kinds of people - from members of the public, to partner agencies and councillors. Committed to collaboration and passionate about positive action, you will relish the opportunity to explore community-based issues and help make people’s lives better.

**What We Offer**:
Westminster is an amazing place. There are 250,000 diverse residents, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people working here every day. Westminster City Council’s strategy is to work towards a Fairer Westminster. A Fairer Westminster is one in which our communities are at the heart of our decision-making and help to determine the city’s future. By working directly with our communities and other partners, we can build a more inclusive city that celebrates our diverse communities, and where residents, workers and visitors from all backgrounds will feel welcome and safe.

We are a multi award winning and forward-thinking Council which appreciates that people work in different ways, and where our staff benefit from working in a range of flexible and agile working patterns.
