An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Admin Apprentice to join their friendly team at their Sunderland Acadmey.

Purpose of the role:

- To provide administrative support to the school (during term time)

Main Duties:
The following is typical of the duties the postholder will be expected to perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar nature and level may be required from time to time.
- Maintain records, organise meetings and events in the school as directed.
- Maintain office systems, diaries and provide information/letters to parents and pupils.
- Ensure that office machinery, stationery and other office consumables (including basic maintenance of equipment) are ordered in accordance with purchasing procedures.
- To arrange servicing and repair of school equipment. Collate pupils’ reports as required.
- Collecting, accounting for, reconciling and security of petty cash, dinner money, school fund and/or other amounts of cash/expenditure, cheques etc. in accordance with Financial Regulations.
- Liaise with staff, parents and external bodies to meet the requirements of the school, including the provision of reception services, arranging events, work experience placements, eye tests etc.
- To promote and implement the Council’s Equality Policy in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
- The postholder will have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons s/he is responsible for, or comes into contact with.

**Skills**:

- GCSE math's & English Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including excellent networking skills
- Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities
- Sociable, confident and professional presence
- Has attention to detail
- Has positive values, attitudes and have high expectations for learners.
- Appropriate behavior and attitude towards safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Sense of humor

Other:

- Five days training will be given for the successful applicant.
- This position will be term time only.

Please note: The vacancy will be based at the Sunderland Academy (SR5 3NF). However the postholder will be required to travel to their Lower Site (NE3 1SZ) and their Upper Site (NE4 8XJ) in Newcastle for meetings every two weeks.

**Salary**: £17,850 p.a
