**About the Opportunity**:
We have an opportunity for a Quality Inspector (UK) at Surface Technology a Quaker Houghton company, based in Aberdeen, UK with occasional travel to other sites.

Tasks

What will you do?

The Quality Inspector will report to the Operations Manager and where the objective is the production of customer components to recognised Surface Technology standards.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES**:
Inspection Responsibilities
- Inspect components in accordance with relevant Process Control Document technical documentation and acceptance standards.
- Inspect goods “as received”, “work in progress” and at final acceptance activities.
- Ensure all inspection equipment is well maintained, within the stated calibration period, checked prior to use and stored correctly when not in use.
- Maintain relevant inspection logbooks.
- Ensure adequate stock of consumables including items used for packaging and transportation of customer goods.
- Assist the supervisor with production planning when required.
- Make efficient use of company resources.
- Ensure that all relevant equipment is well maintained.
- Contribute ideas to improve operational performance levels.
- Carry out any additional duties that the Directors consider to be within your range of capabilities.

QHSE Responsibilities
- Ensure understanding of compliance with and actively contributing to the progressive improvement of all documented controls and processes, including Procedures, Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments, developed to reduce the likelihood of harm to people, property, and the environment to as low a level as is reasonably practicable.
- Take personal and legal responsibility for your own Health and Safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or don’t do.
- Actively intervene in any unsafe act or condition that may be identified.
- Co-operate with the Management Team so far as is necessary to ensure that the requirements defined by the Health and Safety management system are performed or complied with.
- Ensure that any PPE issued or made available is used, maintained correctly and any loss or damage is minimised.
- Immediately reporting any unsafe or potentially unsafe acts or conditions to your Supervisor or any member of the Management Team.
- Immediately reporting any errors, omissions or potential improvements identified in the Health and Safety management system, controls or processes.
- Comply with all Client Health and Safety controls, processes and other requirements on Client work sites.

**Requirements**:
What do we look for?

Personality / Personal Situation
- Minimum 3 Years’ Experience as a Quality Inspector in an Engineering or Manufacturing Industry.
- Adheres to safe working practices.
- Follows the Company PCD's ( Process Control Documents)
- Understands calibration requirement
- Correctly interprets Instructions
- Uses standard measuring equipment.
- Possess product awareness.
- Accepts responsibilities as an inspection stamp holder.
- Be Flexible

Qualifications / Experience

Essential (must have)
- QHSE Awareness
- City and guilds or other reputable training qualification in Technical Design and NDT (Non Destructive Testing) Level 2
- Ability to Interprate Technical Drawings

Desirable (nice to have)
- Manual handling preferred but not essential
- FARO or CMM Expieriance
- Oil and Gas equippment experience

Specific Job Skills / Competencies
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment such as Micrometres and Verniers, NDT experience, Proven ability to describe the function and any important features of items checked and ensures that, in addition to meeting specification, the total product is “fit for its purpose”.
