**1 OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB**
- To ensure effective and efficient procurement of materials and consumables for the business.
- To be business focused, ensuring delivery of raw materials when required and be commercially minded.
**2 SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Responsibility of the day to day purchasing requirement within the business ensuring supply of quality raw materials and expected level of service.
- Processing MRP reports, reviewing and prioritising orders, ensuring cost controls are met and quality standards are adhered to.
- Be commercially minded, understand sales estimates and have awareness of the impact of decisions.
- Work within the assigned delegated authorities within the business.
- Build good working relationships with the Manufacturing team and work with them to meet production requirements, analysing BOM’s, raising concessions and ECN’s.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Inventory control and stock levels management, actively reduce raw materials in the business.
- Participate in stock-take procedures.
- Expediting of purchase orders to ensure on time delivery.
- Complete supplier performance reviews.
- Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies.
- Ensure documentation is received and checked (order acknowledgements, certification for goods received etc).
- Contribute to continuous improvement and take on any other duties as required.
**3 QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THE JOB**
- CIPS - desirable or relevant experience
- Previous purchasing experience is desirable
- Computer systems knowledge & competency (manufacturing system and excel, Microsoft office experience desirable)
- Full technical training will be given on the product but some engineering or technical knowledge would be advantageous.
